Vice President of Sales
My client, a leading PropTech company specializing in innovative software solutions for the commercial real estate (CRE) industry is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Sales to join their team. The VP of Sales will play a crucial role in driving the sales team’s success by providing a clear, strategic vision and leveraging existing resources to achieve our sales goals. Currently, there is a need to streamline processes and focus on the opportunities at hand. The ideal candidate will possess a process improvement mindset and have the authority and business acumen to collaborate effectively and push back when necessary.
Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate a strategic vision for the sales team, outlining clear goals, objectives, and tactics to achieve sales targets.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities within the existing resources, ensuring the team is equipped to maximize their potential.
  • Evaluate and streamline existing sales processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Understand the nuances of the CRE industry, specifically Owner/Operator relationships, as it relates to their biggest vertical, office space.
  • Utilize SaaS experience to effectively sell our software solutions, going beyond a simple dashboard approach and demonstrating a deep understanding of genuine software sales.
  • Leverage startup experience, having worked with revenue ranges of $1-5 million or $5-10 million, to drive sales growth and overcome challenges.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and provide evidence of previous experience working effectively with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Manage and lead a sales team of up to 10 individuals, setting quotas, analysing sales pipelines, and optimizing sales cycles.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with a similar average contract value (ACV) and sales cycle length, as these factors are critical to success in this role.
  • Preferred location on the East Coast, although other locations will be considered.

Desired Background:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in the PropTech industry.
  • In-depth understanding of the commercial real estate sector, including the nuances of different stakeholders and Owner/Operator relationships.
  • Proven track record in selling genuine software solutions, with previous experience in a SaaS environment.
  • Startup experience, having successfully navigated revenue ranges of $1-5 million or $5-10 million.
  • Cross-functional experience, showcasing the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with a similar average contract value (ACV) and sales cycle length is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to push back in a collaborative and informative manner.
