Our client is looking for an experienced Product Lead to take ownership of its product strategy and experience within the multifamily housing sector.

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Product Lead to take ownership of its product strategy and experience within the multifamily housing sector. The focus is on solving a significant operational challenge for regional and national operators managing large portfolios, where fragmented processes, inconsistent execution, and limited centralized visibility can create substantial inefficiencies.
The business brings deep expertise in its core service category, supported by a proven technology platform and established automation capabilities. The next stage of growth requires a Product Lead with genuine knowledge of the multifamily industry – someone who understands how property management organizations operate and can translate those insights into a clear product vision, roadmap, and customer experience.
The Product Lead will own the property manager experience for the multifamily segment end-to-end, helping determine how the product and platform should evolve to better serve customers at scale. This is a hands-on player-coach role, combining strategic product leadership with direct involvement in product development and execution. The successful candidate will lead the team responsible for delivering the product roadmap and, as the product organization scales, will have the opportunity to build, mentor, and lead a growing team of Product Managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the multifamily product strategy: Establish a clear vision for the property management experience across the multifamily market, from independent operators to large regional and national portfolios. Use customer insights, market intelligence, and performance data to validate and evolve the strategy.
  • Own and prioritize the product roadmap: Take full ownership of the roadmap for the property management experience, determining what should be built, what should not be prioritized, and the appropriate sequencing of initiatives. Clearly communicate and support prioritization decisions with evidence and commercial rationale.
  • Lead product delivery: Provide day-to-day direction and priorities for the team responsible for developing the property management experience. Operate as a hands-on product leader who can move comfortably between strategic leadership and direct involvement in product execution when required.
  • Build and develop the product team: As the organization scales, recruit, mentor, and lead Product Managers responsible for specific areas of the product portfolio, establishing strong product management practices and clear accountability.
  • Drive continuous product discovery: Develop a deep understanding of property managers, portfolio operators, and their workflows through ongoing customer discovery. Translate customer needs and operational challenges into clearly defined use cases, opportunities, product requirements, and delivered solutions.
  • Connect product and commercial strategy: Partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, and other customer-facing teams to ensure product development supports enterprise opportunities and customer requirements. Incorporate insights from the sales process and existing customers into product strategy and roadmap decisions.
  • Own product outcomes and performance: Establish and monitor the metrics that define success for the property management experience, with a focus on measurable customer and business outcomes rather than product output alone. Relevant measures may include automation and adoption rates, resolution times, service delivery costs, compliance performance, customer satisfaction, and platform NPS.

Requirements

  • Deep multifamily industry expertise: Extensive experience building products for, selling solutions into, or working directly within the multifamily residential sector is essential. You should have a strong understanding of how property management organizations operate, including their workflows, technology ecosystems, organizational structures, compliance requirements, and portfolio economics.
  • Strategic product leadership experience: Proven experience at Senior Product Manager level or above, with the ability to take full ownership of a product domain. You should be comfortable establishing a clear strategic direction, making informed product decisions, and supporting recommendations with customer insights, market intelligence, and data.
  • Player-coach leadership style: Ability to lead and provide direction to a product delivery team while remaining actively involved in execution. You should be equally comfortable developing product requirements, conducting customer discovery, evaluating complex use cases, and working through detailed product decisions. Previous formal or informal people leadership experience is expected, along with an interest in building and developing a high-performing product team.
  • Enterprise B2B product experience: Demonstrated experience delivering products for enterprise or mid-market B2B customers, ideally within environments where implementation, systems integration, stakeholder management, and organizational change are important components of successful product adoption.
  • Strong technical understanding: While an engineering background is not required, you should be comfortable discussing APIs, integrations, data models, and technical architecture with engineering teams. The ability to translate effectively between technical and commercial stakeholders is important.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills: Confident in developing and communicating a clear point of view, addressing challenges proactively, and making difficult prioritization decisions when required. You should also be comfortable adapting your position when new evidence, customer feedback, or data supports a different direction.
  • PropTech experience preferred: Previous experience within property technology is highly desirable, particularly with property management systems, multifamily technology platforms, or adjacent software solutions.
  • Integration and API product experience preferred: Experience developing integration-led or API-driven products, including third-party, partner, marketplace, or ecosystem integrations, would be highly advantageous.
  • Platform or marketplace experience preferred: Experience working with multi-sided platforms or marketplaces where multiple stakeholder groups and operational requirements must be considered simultaneously would be beneficial.
  • New market or vertical expansion experience preferred: Experience adapting an established technology platform for a new industry or customer segment, particularly where significant product development was required to achieve strong vertical-market fit, would be highly valuable.
