Our Client is looking for an experienced construction professional to play a key role in the development of an AI-enabled 4D scheduling capability.
About the Role Our client is an innovative technology business developing AI-powered solutions for the construction and engineering industry, with a particular focus on improving how complex projects are designed, planned, and delivered. They are looking for an experienced construction professional to play a key role in the development of an AI-enabled 4D scheduling capability, combining 3D modelling with construction sequencing, programme, and planning data. This role is suited to someone with significant hands-on construction project management experience who understands both how projects are planned and how they are executed on site. The successful candidate will bring practical construction judgement into the product development process, working closely with engineering and technology teams to ensure the platform reflects the realities of delivering complex projects. This is a construction project management-focused position rather than a software engineering role, and coding experience is not required. Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the design and development of an AI-powered 4D construction scheduling capability.
Apply practical construction management expertise to ensure scheduling and planning functionality reflects real-world project delivery.
Provide subject-matter expertise across construction planning, sequencing, programme management, and on-site execution.
Bring hands-on project management judgement into product and technical decision-making.
Review and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, project plans, and associated technical documentation.
Advise on how construction activities, dependencies, sequencing, resources, and project milestones should be represented within digital scheduling workflows.
Work closely with software engineering, product, and AI teams, translating construction processes and requirements into practical product functionality.
Provide insight into the challenges faced by project managers and construction teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
Help identify opportunities where AI, automation, and 4D modelling can improve construction planning and project execution.
Participate in regular in-person collaboration with the wider team, expected to be approximately one week per month.
Requirements
Significant hands-on construction project management experience covering the full project lifecycle.
Strong experience across both construction planning and physical project execution; candidates with planning-only backgrounds are unlikely to be suitable.
Demonstrable experience managing complex construction projects from inception through delivery.
Previous experience leading, overseeing, or managing other construction project managers.
Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, project controls, and programme management.
Ability to confidently read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and other technical project documentation.
Strong practical understanding of how construction programmes translate into activities and dependencies on site.
Ability to communicate construction concepts and operational requirements effectively to product and technology teams.
Comfortable contributing subject-matter expertise without needing a software development or coding background.
Willingness to work collaboratively in person for approximately one week per month.
Openness to relocation where required.
Approximately 8–12+ years of relevant construction experience would be advantageous.
A background or qualification in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline would be beneficial.
Experience working with 4D scheduling, BIM, digital construction, or technology-enabled project planning would be advantageous.
A collaborative approach and willingness to learn and adapt within a fast-moving technology environment.
