Our Q&A series is an opportunity for our European team, headed up by Dilan Omari-Clark to discuss all things PropTech, Start-ups, and Career with different founders from across the continent. Each week we will ask PropTech innovators burning questions and quiz them about their product, we hope you find it insightful and enjoy getting to know the founders as much as we have.
This week we have been in touch with Johannes Braith, CEO & Co-Founder, Storebox.
Storebox is the largest warehousing and fastest growing logistics company in the German-speaking markets, the first fully digitized self-storage solution in Europe, with more than 100 locations in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg. They offer storage spaces for private and business purposes, which are automatically accessible at any time. With their successful and recently awarded franchise system, they manage to grow and will continue to expand within Europe.
Storebox operates in the area between logistics and real estate. In search of answers to the megatrends of our time, I dealt intensively with last mile logistics and e-commerce. The effects of this trend have long since arrived in the real estate industry. Vacant retail space is a massive problem for which we developed suitable solutions.
My role, like any C-level at a startup, is very versatile. My day-to-day activities consist of looking at the big picture, bringing company-wide projects forward, securing funding as well as maintaining investors relations.
On the operational side, I currently oversee the Finance, HR, and Business Development departments at Storebox.
The impact was rather positive. We continued growing by redefining our priorities, by sharpening our focus to value generating activities and by capitalizing on new opportunities.
The Real Estate development during the pandemic carried an advantage for our expansion plans. We are currently able to service more industries, as more physical retailers turn into ecommerce businesses that require logistics support, enabling our company to build new services and leverage on this trend.
This advice applies to every business and every idea that you want to implement.
I think it is extremely important to force big problems. By this I mean trends that mean a change in everyday life for the majority of people. Megatrends always mean change and change always offers opportunities.
The plans are laid on relevance and market opportunities. Our main goal is to consolidate into the existing markets with our vertical and horizontal expansion. Being able to service private customers extensively and seize on opportunities in the business sector where a number of new services can emerge.
Our franchise system, on the other hand, is one of our key expansion pillars, as we are able to sell licenses in other countries in Europe. Currently we operate in 4 countries and our aspiration is to become a European reference for logistics and warehousing.
