Senior Solutions Architect

Our client is a provider of commercial Smart Building & Technology solutions. They offer end-to-end solutions including Smart Building Technologies, IoT, Audio Visual Solutions, Telecommunication Systems and much more. They are unique in their ability to provide an integrated approach to our clients’ needs, ensuring that client brand and communication goals are met in a powerful combination of relevant solutions. They are growing internationally as a “Full-Stack” Smart Building Contractor. This “full-stack approach” encompasses the data layer, where they leverage their expertise as a Master Systems Integrator (MSI). The company’s installation team manages hardware integration, deploying smart technologies like Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) sensors and space analytics systems. They also offer software platforms, including their own and third-party systems, providing insights and management solutions for smart buildings.
  
About the Role
Our client specialises in MSI, software, and AV/SI hardware. The overarching objective of this role is to oversee these core business functions to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives and efficient project delivery. The role will report to the Chief Operating Officer with a dotted line to the Managing Director. The Senior Solutions Architect (SSA) is crucial for transforming conceptual designs into detailed, secure, and technically sound plans for smart buildings. The SSA oversees technical performance and security while integrating third-party hardware and software systems. The role involves collaborating with software engineers, building services engineers, 3rd party vendors, and CAD/BIM designers to deliver a comprehensive solution.

The Senior Solutions Architect (SSA) should possess a strong background in software and engineering, with a deep understanding of smart building technologies. This person should excel in project management, be adept at integrating various systems, and stay current with industry trends. Strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams are essential. Given our client’s focus on human-centric smart buildings, this leader should also be innovative and committed to improving the overall building experience.
  
Responsibilities and Duties:

• Design Development: Translate conceptual designs into detailed solutions
• Technical Oversight: Ensure technical performance and security for smart building systems
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, building services engineers, and CAD/BIM designers
• Vendor Technical Management: Manage third-party vendors/partners and specialist subcontractors from a Technical Standpoint, including identifying, selecting, engineering, and quality.
• Trend Analysis: Stay updated with emerging industry trends
• Research: Gain an in-depth understanding of available smart building software platforms, technologies and their capabilities.

Requirements:

• Honours Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Software, or a related field
• Experience in the Smart Building sector
• Strong background in software, serverless design
• Strong background in AWS, GCP or Similar Clouds
• Proficiency in managing third-party vendors and subcontractors
• Familiarity with IoT, networks, and APIs
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Excellent mentoring skills to develop the growing team
