Our Client is a fast-growing construction tech startup looking for a Lead Full-Stack Developer.

Our client is a fast-growing construction tech startup helping builders and govt’ agencies modernise procurement and compliance. Their platform turns complex participation and compliance requirements into clear, actionable insights—empowering teams to grow through data-driven procurement. Their culture is rooted in transparency, impact, and collaboration, with a team that’s passionate about simplifying how the industry builds and buys.

The Mission
As a Lead Full-Stack Developer, your mission is to ensure their platform is robust and flexible enough to support hyper-growth. You will take ownership of their core system’s scalability and lead the design and implementation of powerful, secure custom integrations that unlock new value for our largest customers.

Your First 6 Months:
A Timeline for Impact We believe in setting clear expectations. Here’s what their path to ownership will look like:
● By Week 2: You will have mastered our development workflow and demonstrated key aspects of our polyglot stack (SvelteKit/Cloudflare, PHP/Laravel, MySQL) by successfully building and shipping a feature in your local environment.
● By Month 1: You will be actively integrated into the team, providing meaningful, constructive direction in product discussions, technical specification reviews, and peer code reviews.
● By Month 2: You will be operating as a fully integrated senior individual
contributor, confidently completing and leading complex sprint tasks.
● By Month 3: You will take full ownership of one major feature or scaling
initiative—from solution proposal and technical design to implementation,
deployment, and monitoring.
● By Month 6: You will establish yourself as a technical leader, taking the lead on growing or upskilling the team through mentorship, designing and delivering
training, or improving our hiring process.

What You’ll Do (The Outcomes You’ll Own):
● Architect for Scale: Lead initiatives to identify and eliminate performance
bottlenecks across our stack, ensuring our platform remains fast, reliable, and
cost-effective as our user base and data volume grow exponentially.
● Build a Powerful Integration Framework: Design, build, and maintain a secure
and well-documented system for custom integrations (e.g., public APIs,
webhooks, 3rd-party data syncs) that becomes a key selling point for our
enterprise tier.
● Improve Development Health: Champion practices that increase code
completeness and reduce Work-in-Progress (WIP), directly improving our team’s
velocity and ability to ship complex, high-quality features reliably.
● Elevate the Team: Mentor other engineers on best practices for building scalable
systems and reusable components. Provide insightful code reviews and share
knowledge to raise the technical bar for the entire team.

Who You Are (The Competencies You Possess):
We are looking for an engineer who thrives on autonomy and possess proven abilities with:
● Extreme Ownership & Independent Problem-Solving: This is your core
competency. You are driven by ambiguous challenges and are adept at
navigating from a fuzzy problem statement to a robust, production-ready solution without needing hand-holding. You see a gap and you fill it.
● Abstraction & Mental Modeling: You excel at turning ambiguous product goals
into clean, logical system designs. You think deeply about data structures, state, and APIs before writing a line of code.
● Polyglot Proficiency & Systems Thinking: You are unfazed by a diverse tech
stack. You quickly master new technologies and can debug and optimize across
the entire system.

Code Quality & Completeness:
● You have a natural bias for finishing what you
start. You minimize loose ends and believe a feature isn’t “done” until it’s
well-tested, documented, and stable.
● Initiative & Proactivity: You don’t wait for tasks to be assigned. You constantly identify opportunities, propose solutions, and drive them forward, rallying the team behind your ideas.
● Mentorship & Influence: You elevate everyone around you through your actions and your guidance. You provide direct, valuable feedback and are sought out for your technical opinion.
● Coachability & Learning Agility: You have a low ego and actively seek feedback.
● You’re constantly learning and adapting, eager to master new domains and
technologies.

Our Tech Stack:
● Frontend: SvelteKit, deployed on Cloudflare Pages/Workers
● Backend: PHP/Laravel (headless/API-only), running on AWS Lightsail
● Database: MySQL, PostgresSQL, Cloudflare D1 (SQLite)
● DevOps: Git/GitHub, GitHub Actions, ,Linux, NGINX, Docker/Dev Containers, Vite
● Testing: Playwright, Cypress, PHPUnit/Pest, Vitest/Mocha
● Design: Figma, Lottie, Storybook

Why Join Us?
● Direct Leadership Access: Collaborate directly with company leaders in a
fast-moving, no-bureaucracy environment where execution is what matters most.
● Unmatched Autonomy: We hire experts and trust them to do their best work. You will have the freedom to make key technical decisions that shape our platform.
● Accelerated Growth Path: The clear 6-month ramp-up is designed to fast-track you into a position of significant technical/organizational leadership and impact.
