Our Client is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join a UK-based SaaS technology business as its first dedicated HR hire, following a recent acquisition by a rapidly expanding international group.
This is a hands-on, operational role with significant responsibility for UK employment law and people operations. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership at both local and group level, taking end-to-end ownership of HR operations, compliance, and the full employee lifecycle within the UK business.
The role will suit someone who enjoys establishing HR frameworks from the ground up, acting as a trusted partner to leadership, and building a compliant, effective people function in a growing technology-led organisation.
  
Key Responsibilities
  
HR Operations & Administration

  • Take full ownership of day-to-day HR operations and administration across the entire employee lifecycle
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee documentation, contracts, policies, and HR records
  • Ensure all HR processes comply with UK employment legislation and internal governance standards
  • Continuously review, improve, and standardise HR processes to support a growing organisation

Employment Law & Employee Relations

  • Act as the internal subject-matter expert on UK employment law
  • Manage and support a range of employee relations matters, including:
    o employee exits and offboarding
    o redundancy and restructuring processes
    o disciplinary, grievance, and performance-related cases
  • Work closely with external legal advisors to ensure employment law guidance is applied in a practical and effective way
  • Provide day-to-day advice and support to leaders on employee relations issues

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate recruitment activity with external agencies (approximately 20–30% of role scope)
  • Partner with hiring managers to ensure recruitment processes are efficient, compliant, and well-managed
  • Own and continuously enhance onboarding processes to support new hires in a scaling environment

People Processes & Scaling

  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of global people processes, including:
    • o performance review frameworks
    • o HR policies and people governance standards
  • Contribute to post-acquisition HR integration and alignment with group-wide practices
  • Act as a trusted, operational HR partner to senior leadership

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in an HR Manager, People Operations, or senior HR generalist role
  • Strong, hands-on knowledge of UK employment law and best practice
  • Experience working within technology, SaaS, or high-growth scale-up environments
  • Comfortable operating as the sole HR point of contact within a business
  • Experience partnering with external employment law or legal advisors
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Able to work autonomously while collaborating closely with senior leadership and a wider group HR function
  • CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience acting as a first HR hire or establishing HR processes from the ground up
  • Experience supporting organisations through post-acquisition integration or significant periods of change
  • Background in PropTech, B2B SaaS, or similar technology-driven sectors
