About the Role

Our client is looking for a Head of People to build and lead the people function during a significant phase of growth. This is a rare opportunity to establish and scale a people function from the ground up within a fast-growing technology business. As the first dedicated People leader, you will have responsibility for shaping and delivering the company’s people strategy, while remaining actively involved in talent acquisition and employee experience initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company’s people strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth plans.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment across technical and non-technical functions, managing the full hiring lifecycle from workforce planning through to onboarding.
  • Build and scale talent acquisition processes, programmes, and employer branding initiatives to attract high-calibre candidates.
  • Design and implement people policies, frameworks, and best practices that support employee engagement, development, and retention.
  • Establish and optimise people operations, including onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and learning and development programmes.
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage HR and recruitment technology platforms, ensuring scalable and efficient processes.
  • Partner with senior leaders and hiring managers to support organisational design, workforce planning, and leadership development.
  • Create and monitor people metrics and reporting frameworks to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture that supports collaboration, inclusion, and employee wellbeing.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on people-related matters and organisational growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading people, talent, or HR functions within a high-growth technology environment.
  • Strong track record of hiring and developing technical talent, ideally within software engineering, AI, machine learning, or related technology sectors.
  • Experience building or transforming people and talent functions in scaling organisations.
  • Deep understanding of talent acquisition, people operations, employee engagement, performance management, and organisational development.
  • Experience implementing and optimising HR systems, applicant tracking systems, and people-related technologies.
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.
  • Experience supporting organisational growth, change management, and culture-building initiatives.
  • HR qualifications or professional certifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building high-performing teams and creating exceptional employee experiences.
