Our client is seeking a Field Service Technician to support on-site technical operations within high-temperature industrial environments.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Field Service Technician to support on-site technical operations within high-temperature industrial environments.
This is a practical, field-based role involving equipment inspections, data collection, and support with the installation and maintenance of monitoring systems used in large-scale industrial facilities. The position would suit candidates with experience in heavy industry, industrial maintenance, plant operations, mechanical environments, or similar hands-on technical settings. A formal engineering qualification is not essential.
The successful candidate will initially assist with condition assessment activities and support the deployment of fixed monitoring equipment designed to improve operational reliability and asset performance.
The role involves regular work within active production facilities and may include exposure to heat, physically demanding tasks, and extended working hours on customer sites.
Over time, the position may develop into broader technical inspection and diagnostic responsibilities, including advanced assessment methods, operational audits, and specialist condition-monitoring activities, depending on business needs and individual performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site furnace inspections and diagnostic assessments at customer facilities
  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of industrial monitoring systems
  • Collect, validate, and accurately document field data and inspection results
  • Work in active industrial environments, including furnace and heavy equipment operations
  • Follow all applicable safety standards, operational procedures, and customer-site requirements
  • Represent the company professionally during customer interactions and on-site activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams on project execution, coordination, and reporting
  • Maintain, organize, and manage field tools and technical equipment
  • Participate in technical training and assist with additional inspection and diagnostic activities as needed
  • Contribute to high-quality field operations across regional and international projects

Requirements

  • Based in a major metropolitan area with flexibility for regional and international travel
  • Experience in the glass industry preferred
  • Experience in steel production, refractory environments, furnace operations, maintenance, or other heavy industrial settings also highly relevant
  • Strong technical aptitude or substantial hands-on industrial experience
  • Comfortable working in active industrial facilities and field environments
  • Willing and able to travel internationally for up to 70–75% of working time
  • Available for short-notice travel when required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Practical, dependable, adaptable, and safety-focused
  • Able to work effectively across a variety of industrial sites and customer environments
  • Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks in industrial conditions, including exposure to heat and extended on-site hours
  • Must be able to complete any required occupational medical assessments and obtain clearance for work in high-temperature industrial environments
  • Valid driver’s license required
