Business Development Manager

Job title:         Business Development Manager
Salary range: £35k base + uncap. Commission (avg. 50%)
Location:         Hybrid/Remote, Brighton Office
Our client is a leading GreenTech player giving risk assessment data (land contamination, flood and ground stability) to customers, helping clients make informed property transaction decisions.
They are looking for a Business Development Manager to be responsible for the adoption and retention of their products and services across the Insights division, as well as accountable for new logo acquisitions.


  • Negotiate pricing, manage and grow existing portfolio and demonstrate new business acquisition;
  • Attend meetings with existing and target clients;
  • Draft proposals/contracts and quotes with the support of the Sales Director;
  • Create and present sales plan demonstrating a clear path to achieve and exceed targets;
  • Create strategic account plans for all targets to identify growth opportunities;
  • Create campaigns and promotions with marketing team
  • Deliver effective presentations to clients, raising brand awareness and driving revenue growth
  • Follow up on inbound leads to develop relationships with existing and target clients;
  • Report feedback to product team
  • Input data into the CRM system (Hubspot)
  • To maintain an up to date knowledge of the Environmental Consultancy industry;
  • Maintain and build excellent relationships with clients/prospects at all levels;
  • Take on and lead projects from a sales perspective (new products/platforms/processes etc.)

Your Background

  • Experienced sales professional;
  • Able to deliver presentations confidently;
  • Able to understand/sell a technical product;
  • Consistent top sales performer;
  • Experienced planner and capable of delivering a business plan;
  • Able to create successful proposals and bids;  Sales experience within the Environmental Consultancy industry advantageous but not a must;
  • Consultative solution selling is an advantage;

Desired Skill set

  • Preferably experienced with Hubspot;
  • Familiar with all Microsoft and Google packages
  • Revenue and target focused;
  • Proven sales track record;
  • Effective strategic planning skills;
  • Fluent in spoken and written English;
  • Strong negotiation skills at all levels;
  • Effective presentation skills;
  • Organizational & multi-tasking – deadline and goal orientated;
  • Documentation & administrative skills – strong numeric capabilities & time management skills;
  • Ability to communicate at an executive level with confidence;
  • Keen understanding of the environmental consultancy and property development sector;
