Backend Software Engineer

Their platform enables contractors, project teams, and asset owners to unlock greater value from their data, improving collaboration, decision-making, and operational efficiency across complex construction projects. As they continue to scale, they are looking for a BackendSoftware Engineer to help build and evolve their next-generation platform.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions that enhance the core platform.
• Build and support data integrations, pipelines, and analytical capabilities to enable powerful customer insights.
• Develop new product features from concept through to production deployment.
• Build, maintain, and optimise cloud-based infrastructure with a focus on reliability, scalability, and high availability.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software that meets customer needs.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, technical improvements, and engineering best practices.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance to ensure a robust production environment.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Commercial experience developing modern web applications within a SaaS or technology environment.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience building scalable, production-ready applications.
• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and production environments.
• Familiarity with building data integrations, ETL processes, or analytics-focused applications.
• Hands-on experience with modern development frameworks and technologies such as Ruby on Rails, React, or similar full-stack technologies.
• Exposure to data engineering or orchestration tools such as Airflow, DBT, or equivalent technologies is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to take ownership of technical challenges from design through implementation.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a proactive, delivery-focused mindset.
• A customer-centric approach with a passion for building products that solve real-world business problems.
• An interest in data, AI, or technology that is transforming traditional industries would be beneficial.
