Our client is looking for a BIM Engineer.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a BIM Engineer to lead the development and evolution of a Revit plugin and its underlying BIM data infrastructure. The role will focus on advancing integration capabilities while expanding into areas such as 3D visualisation, IFC interoperability, and automated parameter workflows.
This is a high-impact, high-ownership position suited to someone with hands-on experience delivering Revit add-ins, strong proficiency in C# and JavaScript/TypeScript, and a genuine interest in the intersection of BIM technology, structured data, and intuitive user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end development of the company’s Revit plugin, including architecture, roadmap planning, release management, and quality assurance.
  • Build and enhance BIM functionality, including dynamic parameter automation, advanced material and object mapping, schedule/specification automation, and model-driven documentation workflows.
  • Develop interactive 3D visualisation and rendering experiences using technologies such as three.js and IFC.js to bring product and BIM data to life visually.
  • Improve interoperability between IFC, Revit, and wider BIM ecosystems, supporting integrations with platforms such as Rhino, Forma, and ArchiCAD where relevant.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and AI teams to translate AEC workflows into intuitive and scalable software solutions.
  • Contribute to shaping the long-term BIM and digital infrastructure strategy for the business.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Proven experience developing Revit add-ins using C# and the Revit API
  • Experience with 3D web visualisation technologies, ideally including three.js
  • Familiarity with IFC standards and related tooling such as IFC.js, or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area
  • Strong full-stack capabilities, with the ability to work across desktop applications, modern web technologies, and APIs
  • Product-minded approach with a focus on delivering practical, user-facing solutions
  • Background in, or strong interest in, architecture, AEC workflows, or building/product data systems
  • Experience with tools and platforms such as Dynamo, pyRevit, or Autodesk Platform Services
  • Exposure to rendering pipelines or computational geometry concepts
  • Contributions to open-source projects within the AEC/BIM ecosystem are a plus
  • Experience collaborating directly with architects, BIM specialists, or other end users in the built environment sector
