About the Role
Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex, large-scale projects across infrastructure, engineering, industrial, and operational environments. This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader who can oversee multiple project phases while ensuring strong performance in safety, quality, schedule, budget, and stakeholder management.
The successful candidate will bring a combination of operational expertise, commercial awareness, and leadership capability, with a proven ability to drive project execution, influence cross-functional teams, and deliver successful outcomes in demanding environments. In addition to managing key projects, you will play an important role in strengthening project delivery processes, mentoring teams, and supporting the organization’s continued growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the delivery of complex, large-scale projects across engineering, infrastructure, industrial, operational, or project-based environments.
- Oversee all aspects of project execution, including budgeting, cost management, scheduling, documentation, stakeholder communication, contract administration, and risk management.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful, safe, and efficient project delivery.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to project managers, coordinators, and operational teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Drive enhancements to project delivery methodologies, reporting processes, governance frameworks, and operational best practices.
- Support strategic planning activities, including resource allocation, project prioritization, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
- Identify and proactively manage project risks, performance challenges, and commercial considerations, implementing practical solutions to maintain project objectives.
- Travel to project locations as required to support delivery, stakeholder engagement, and operational oversight.
- Champion a culture of safety, collaboration, quality, and operational excellence while promoting strong teamwork and positive project outcomes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of project management experience delivering complex projects within construction, engineering, infrastructure, industrial, utilities, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale projects and influencing multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
- Strong operational, commercial, analytical, communication, and leadership capabilities.
- Extensive experience managing project schedules, budgets, contracts, documentation, change management processes, stakeholder communications, and project risks.
- Ability to travel regularly to project sites and work effectively within active operational environments.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build credibility, develop relationships, and support organizational growth.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience delivering projects for government, public-sector, regulated, or highly governed environments.
- Familiarity with fixed-price, lump-sum, or other commercially complex project delivery models.
- Experience managing projects ranging from several hundred thousand to multi-million-dollar budgets and extended delivery timelines.
- Exposure to infrastructure, utilities, transportation, water, energy, environmental, industrial, or other large-scale capital projects.
- Experience using project planning, scheduling, document control, and construction management platforms.
- Professional safety certifications or formal health and safety training.
- Previous experience mentoring, coaching, or leading project management and operational teams.
- Demonstrated success improving project delivery processes, governance frameworks, reporting structures, project controls, and operational performance.
- Experience working within growing, entrepreneurial, or rapidly evolving organizations where adaptability and continuous improvement are highly valued.
