PropTech VP of Product role based Remotely in the US

About our client

Our client helps commercial tenants make better real estate decisions that drive the operational needs and growth of their business.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced companies to completely rethink their use of real estate, both near and long-term.

As of January 2022, all companies issuing US GAAP and IASB financial statements are required to comply with new standards.

The current state of lease management consists of off-line work and legacy software tools that are ripe for disruption.

Our client aspires to be the platform where all commercial real estate decisions are made, facilitating the access to data and collaboration required by all stakeholders in the business.

Their team’s unique combination of commercial real estate (JLL), proptech (VTS, ProCore, WeWork), and management consulting experience (Boston Consulting Group) positions them to understand and execute on the problems facing their customers.

About You

As VP of Product, you will lay the foundation for how product is run at the company.

You will hire and develop a product team, install clear processes, develop a strategy and help your team execute on building a best in class real-estate & accounting solution.

They are looking for a candidate with a technical background, great product instincts and the perspective on how to build a great product team.

Ideally you’ve done this before and look forward to doing so again at a small, growing company.

Responsibilities
  • Hire and grow a team of product managers responsible for defining the future of Lease/Deal Management, & Accounting products at the company
  • Craft and communicate the product strategy, with the help of executive team
  • Define a clear product process for PMs to follow
  • Help PMs define their product roadmap and key metrics
  • Communicate regularly with the broader team what product is doing and why
  • Deeply understand customer needs by spending time with customers, sales, and support
Requirements
  • 8+ years of product management experience in a software as a service or fast growth setting
  • Experience in building and growing multiple software product lines in an agile environment, with a demonstrated ability to lead technical product roadmaps
  • Experience setting goals and defining key metrics
  • Experience working in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has previously hired, managed, and developed product managers
  • Can clearly articulate a strategic vision for the product
  • Can identify market opportunities, define product requirements and success criteria, sell the vision to executives, and build
  • Commercial real estate / accounting knowledge or experience a plus
