PropTech Software Engineering Manager role based in New York, US

Our client is a homeownership company taking on the housing affordability crisis. Our mission is to guide people on their unique path to homeownership, and we do this through a holistic Homeownership Program where we buy a home for a client and rent it to them while we help them prepare for a mortgage. They are seeking a talented Software Development Manager to join our Engineering team. The role is responsible for technology vision and driving the execution of the vision that will help innovate and build end- to-end experiences, while overseeing a team of engineers. This role will report into our Head of Engineering.


  • Develop and deliver on the vision and help us rapidly launch and scale our products while maintaining quality controls
  • Be part of a growing, fast-paced, and fun team
  • Have ownership, not just responsibility; and you’ll define and execute software development to deliver growth
  • Own the technical direction for the team, and lead key projects from ideation all the way to deployment
  • Develop people’s careers as well as recruit for the team
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership throughout product life cycles, influence software engineers best practices for your team and own operational metrics
  • Partner with business leaders and product managers to define product requirements
  • Work with engineers to define technical requirements and architect and execute best-in-class implementations in agile manner
  • Build and maintain world-class customer experience and operational excellence for your deliverables


  • Are Passionate about building a great organization and are obsessed with customers
  • Relentlessly raise the bar on the quality of what we deliver
  • Manage a fast-paced delivery schedule and drive a high-level strategy
  • Take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy


  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • 2+ years of experience managing engineers
  • Experience in partnering with product management teams
  • Prior experience hiring, managing, mentoring, and growing a high-performing team of Software Engineers
  • Experience in fintech startups a plus, but not required
