The Opportunity

The Design Team is dedicated to transforming the commercial real estate (CRE) industry through intuitive technology and precise, pertinent data. Our client’s goal is to build software that enables CRE professionals to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Commercial real estate has been around forever, but the tools and data available to acquisitions teams, brokers, portfolio managers, developers, to name a few, are fragmented, painful to use, and convoluted.

Our client is at the forefront of changing this globally and has the resources and scale to change the way their clients work each day. They’re in a pivotal stage of growth and excited for new teammates to join them who excel at what they do. As a UX/UI designer, you’re a thought-leader helping to advance the craft. You’re a hands-on maker paving the way for innovation in not only what they make, but how they make it. You’ll report to our client’s Data UX Lead and work collaboratively on their data-related squads (product folks, engineers, and others), utilizing their powerful data and designing high quality product experiences from end-to-end that empower their users to make the right decision at the right time. They’re passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the thousands of people the company serves worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take a user-centered design approach. You will utilize quantitative and qualitative research to generate meaningful insights that will drive creative concepts. You will translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and rapid prototypes – optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces, leading to intuitive user experiences. You will apply your findings to create detailed UI designs for the product and development team.
  • Design product concepts that are clear, intuitive, add value to our client’s users and business. You will craft every detail of new product features, utilizing and adding to their design system, and improvement from problem definition to launch, and beyond.
  • Collaborate and iterate. You will collaborate with folks in product, design, engineering, customer success, and more, working with internal and external users to answer critical business questions. You will elicit needs and conduct/utilize user research and insights to create user journeys and user stories. You will test ideas with customers, iterating designs based on findings and feedback.
Key Qualifications

1-3 years of experience with product design (no experience in CRE required). You’ve worked with users to understand their needs and design complete user experiences that solve their problems. You have a portfolio demonstrating your experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments, including:

  • Planning and conducting user research
  • Engaging in product conversations and acting as an advocate for users’ needs
  • Building out user stories, journey maps, low and high fidelity mockups, and prototypes
  • Conducting user testing through relevant tools
  • Keeping accessibility and usability top of mind
  • Technical skills. You have expertise in design software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools such as Marvel, InVision, and UXPin.
  • Applied UX and UI design skills. You have experience in using UX best practices to design solutions, applying a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design. You can rapidly iterate designs and solutions intelligently and clearly communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to internal and external teams. You can untangle vague conceptual problems and have a sharp intuition for the most accessible mental models and flows, so users can immediately start gaining value out of the product. (UX) You can create clear, intuitive, and visually appealing human interfaces. (UI)
  • You’re a proactive communicator. You are a relationship-builder and thrive in a collaborative environment, communicating closely with colleagues around the world. You are open to giving and receiving feedback and are a good listener.
