Our Client is looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager for the UK&I market.

About our client:

Our client is a Series A PropTech startup specialising in smart building automation solutions designed for the commercial, residential, and hospitality spaces. Their main go-to-market channel is through partners within the market and business development with direct customers.
  
The role:

As the Business Development Manager for the UK&I market, you will be responsible for driving operational sales activities, building relationships with clients, and ensuring business growth. Your primary focus will be on finding new clients, establishing long-term partnerships, and selling our client’s building automation solutions.
  
This role is ideal for a natural entrepreneur with a strong technical affinity for building automation and knowledge of the local regulatory environment. With ambition to grow the local presence and footprint together with your own role within the company.  
  
Key Responsibilities 

  • Got to Market development and execution: Develop and execute a region-specific go-to-market strategy for the BAS market (focus on multi-dwelling units and light commercial properties).
  • Build up partner sales channel: Establish strong partnerships with distributors, system integrators, and smart building consultants who would sign up as the company’s partners and take up our product within their portfolio offering. 
  • Client acquisition: Identify, reach out to, and build relationships with potential direct customers, including property developers, construction companies, MEP contractors, and real estate investors. 
  • Sales execution: Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets, focusing on direct engagement with customers and decision-makers. 
  • Regulatory understanding: Leverage your knowledge of building automation regulations in UK&I to navigate compliance and support customers in implementing regulatory-compliant solutions. 
  • Technical consultation: Utilize your technical understanding of building automation to consult with customers and propose tailored solutions that meet their needs. 
  • Sales reporting: Regularly report on sales activities, pipeline progress, and market feedback, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.

Requirements: 

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably within the building automation or technology sectors. 
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully growing sales and building long-term client relationships in UK&I. 
  • Technical affinity with building automation solutions, including energy management, smart building systems, or IoT technologies. 
  • Strong knowledge of building automation regulations is a significant plus. 
  • A self-starter mindset, thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a passion for growing businesses and taking ownership of new opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a customer-centric approach.
