Since its foundation in the late 2000s, our client has grown to become one of the leading real estate companies in the Europe, owning and operating over €30bn of assets across residential, commercial and hospitality. 
Our client is involved primarily involved in owning and operating assets but also has interests in the full development process of developing designs and obtaining planning permission, through to financing, project management of the construction process.
The role
Reporting to the CEO and COO our client is seeking a highly motivated, strategic and energetic person to be their PropTech Lead. This role will optimize the benefits of technology adoption across the firm as well as interacting with Proptech funds the firm is invested into and from time to time co-invest alongside them.

  • Being the bridge between the tech companies and tech fund(s) and our client’s development, asset management and property management teams
  • Helping create the future of the smart built environment.
  • Maximising opportunities that have the potential to disrupt and enhance operations, finance and decarbonization.
  • Looking to revolutionise the way things are done and not be scared to challenge the status quo.
  • Promoting opportunities for collaboration and problem-solving, trials and product development.
  • Identifying and evaluating opportunities for innovation in strategic focal areas of the company’s business.

Key responsibilities include (but may not be exclusive to):

  • To be the key innovation and PropTech liaison.
  • Coordinate activities and provide liaison, leadership and direction between PropTech funds or companies and internal and where necessary external stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams across the business to identify PropTech needs and opportunities as well as supply chain.
  • To work with the Funds on vetting and adoptions of new PropTech solutions.
  • Working collaboratively with relevant business teams lead the identification, sourcing, business case and adoption of PropTech within the business.
  • Responsible for ensuring the full adoption cycle of relevant PropTech from company sourcing through pilot, implementation and where successful wider adoption.
  • Keep informed of latest developments in PropTech and working with Communication team provide information to the relevant departments within the business.
  • Advise on the merits and limitations of available and developing PropTech technologies.
  • Responsible for managing budget and reporting on progress and status as required with identified and agreed KPIs.
  • Constantly thinking about how we can improve the customer experience across all touchpoints.
  • Champion the assessment of co-investments into specific tech companies the firm might adopt as a customer.

Skills and requirements

  • Experience of working in a digital/innovation related role/ capacity which has required external collaboration and resulted in outputs that have been shown to work and preferably have gained wider use through identifiable market uptake.
  • Experience with ESG integration and progress
  • Knowledge of PropTech world and PropTech funds. Experience / knowledge of Property sector and needs of development and asset teams (prior direct experience working with either or both beneficial).
  • Understanding of property and asset management commercial objectives.
  • Successful track record in digital transformation initiatives and progressing new insights, products, processes, and strategies across a national organisation.
  • Solid understanding of budgets and business planning.
  • Good knowledge of technology trends with some knowledge of the technical requirements of Proptech, such as infrastructure and networking needs.
  • Knowledge of information security protocols and the relationship with IoT and digital technology
  • Strong communication skills, written, verbal, presentation.
  • Collaborative approach to delivery that takes others on the ‘journey’, works well within different teams, whilst being a self-starter who is determined, and able, to see things through.
  • Developing and nurturing partnerships.
  • Project management skills with a focus on timely and cost-effective delivery of programs, activities.
  • Analytical skills, with focus on understanding complex issues and recommending solutions.
