PropTech Head of Strategy role based in London, UK.

The Role

Primary responsibilities will include leading and executing on companywide strategic and operational initiatives, including strategy development & implementation, driving programs of organizational change, as well as oversight of M&A and partnership strategy.

Strategy is a new and expanding function which our client views as playing a crucial part in their ambitious international growth plans and they are looking for an ambitious, intelligent, energetic self-starter to lead the team. The role would suit a high-performing individual with around Principal level experience at a tier one management consulting firm who is looking to make a move in to proptech or someone with equivalent internal strategy experience at a major real estate firm.

The candidate will be expected to drive forward our client’s strategic development planning independently and can expect to manage a larger team in time – but will also need to be prepared to get involved in any work that needs to be done as the function scales.


Corporate strategy

  • Drive the creation of strategies to serve existing and potentially new industry verticals
  • Drive international market entry strategy development
  • Develop company level OKRs and KPIs in collaboration with function heads to ensure alignment and synergy creation across the business
  • Work with Programme Management and functional leads to ensure the execution of these strategic initiatives and embed operational excellence across functions
  • Own or participate in ad hoc strategic projects across the whole value chain of the company – from corporate board reporting to tactical operational matters

Product strategy

  • Collaborate with internal product strategy team to develop long-term product vision to complement overall strategic focus and company level OKRs (e.g., with regards to potential development of ESG aligned products)

M&A & Partnerships

  • Oversee M&A and Partnerships team and ensure alignment with broader corporate and product strategy
  • Help develop pipeline of potential acquisition targets / partnership candidates based on insights gained from product and vertical strategy work
  • Provide support on acquisitions / partnership discussions
  • Provide input and support with respect to post deal integration and tracking


  • Circa 10 years’ (or around Principal level) strategy consulting experience at a tier one management consulting firm (MBB, L.E.K., OC&C, etc.) – real estate / B2B SaaS experience highly beneficial
  • Alternatively, equivalent internal corporate strategy experience at a major real estate firm
  • Experience of developing actionable company strategy – where to play and how to win – including which new sectors and markets our client should be focusing on, what their long-term product strategy should look like and how they should execute (internally, via partnership or M&A)
  • Experience of implementing programmes of strategic change / operational enhancement – e.g., working with functional leads to activate strategic recommendations and track progress against targets
  • Broad understanding of M&A processes
  • Experience with post-merger integration
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization across different cultures and geographies
  • Effective project management skills, including ability to manage multiple projects, react quickly and effectively to changing priorities
  • Strong financial modelling capabilities
  • Confident in dealing with people at all levels of the organisation
  • Minimum BA/BSc, ideally in Business, Finance or a STEM field
  • Ideally an MBA from a top institution
