PropTech Frontend Engineer role based in London, UK

About Our Client

Our clients believe that the legal industry will eventually be revolutionised by artificial intelligence. their vision is to provide law firms and their clients with tailored platforms powered by AI, with a laser sharp focus on simplicity.

They are an early stage funded start-up, looking to rapidly expand. Their primary platform is used by many of the major real estate law firms in the UK, with a number of other products in the pipeline. Their board and advisers also include members of the same top law firms.

Our client helps real estate lawyers optimise legal document review, using cutting edge natural language processing and machine learning to drive up efficiency and productivity, whilst reducing time and cost. They help lawyers assess and quantify risk faster and more effectively, by producing instant legal risk reports.

They are backed by significant investors who recognise the important position the company is playing in driving forward AI in the legal industry, and as part of that they’re looking to expand their team to better support their clients!

About the Role

Our client is looking for a mid to high level web application developer (frontend) to join their development team. This will suit someone who has strong technical knowledge but likes variety in their day-to-day responsibilities. They are looking for someone proactive that has a passion for the ever-changing landscape of web technology.

Our client uses Angular framework and React library for its user interfaces. The frontend technologies that they uses are:

  • Saas
  • State Management tools (Akita, Redux)
  • Material Design Components
  • ESLint & Stylelint
  • Firebase API

You will come in as the first inhouse frontend developer to work alongside the backend team. The role will require you to design and implement web applications, including improving and iterating over the platforms already have deployed into the market.

This role will give you autonomy and responsibility to communicate with their designers directly and implement their designs.

About You

Their ideal candidate is one who, primarily, fits with the culture of the team. You must be self- motivated and a self-starter, with fantastic attention to detail. This is a role which will develop and morph as they expand, and so you must be flexible in your approach and not fazed by a fast-changing environment.

Requirements and Skills
  • Experience with CSS and a CSS pre-processor like SASS or LESS
  • Experience with HTML
  • Experience with React and Angular; experience in one and familiarity with the other one is enough
  • Experience with browser testing and debugging
  • Proficient in TypeScript / JavaScript ES8+ (async await, promises)
  • Ability to work with Figma and translate Figma designs into web interfaces
  • Have a few years of experience in a similar role

It would also be good for you to have the following experience (but not necessary):

  • Development experience with RESTful web services
  • Experience producing and optimising code for performance & speed
  • Experience responsive content

Competitive salary, paired with a wide range of benefits including medical insurance, gym membership, pension, MindSpace membership and a generous holiday allowance.

They are happy to support remote working arrangements and actively encourage a healthy work/life balance.
