PropTech Data Engineer role based in Dallas, US

Our client is a cloud-based platform that drives full cycle efficiencies for all those involved in Commercial Real Estate. They build value through technology by cohesively integrating, aligning, and animating data from multiple sources. Our client has created an application that will soon become industry standard in the Commercial Real Estate world, and they are eager to expand their team!

Currently, they are in search of a Data Engineer to help in the creation of new features and maintenance of their current system. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with industry leaders on a variety of technical projects with an emphasis on software craftsmanship and continued learning.

Responsibilities:
  • Build ETL/ELT pipelines from multiple sources with industry best practices in mind.
  • Build integrations with ERPs using APIs (Rest and SOAP).
  • Participate in the design, build, and deployment of new data warehouse product.
  • Automate processes such as data validation, profiling, cleansing, and monitoring using scripting languages.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and reports.
  • Work with data analytics/BI team to prioritize business and information needs.
Requirements:
  • Intermediate level with a multipurpose OOP language preferably Python and data manipulation packages.
  • Authoring complex SQL scripts and query performance tuning.
  • Experience with one pipeline orchestration tool (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Airflow, etc.).
  • Basic familiarity with Azure (preferred – not required).
  • Basic knowledge of source control (Git), knowledge of CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
  • Ability to design dimensional models in star and snowflake schemas.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Management, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Ability to manage workload and self-prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and in collaborative environment.
  • Can clearly communicate cross-functionally among both technical and non-technical roles.
