About the Role
Our Client builds technology that transforms mobile spatial scans into accurate, structured 3D models used across design, construction, and the built environment. Their platform enables professionals to better visualize, plan, and realize the full potential of physical spaces. What began as a small, self-funded initiative has scaled into a multi-million-dollar business with strong product–market fit among small and mid-sized customers, and the company is now entering its next phase of growth, including expansion into larger enterprise segments.
They are seeking a Chief Technology Officer to partner closely with the CEO, align product, engineering, and design under a unified vision, and lead the organization through its next stage of innovation and scale. This is a highly strategic leadership role requiring a balance of hands-on execution, long-term technical vision, and exceptional product leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Integrated Product & Technology Strategy
- Establish a clear, compelling vision that inspires teams and aligns the organization
- Translate strategy into a focused, high-impact roadmap with measurable returns
- Balance innovation, execution velocity, and long-term technical scalability
- Apply sound judgment on when to advance aggressively, simplify thoughtfully, or pivot decisively
Customer-Driven Product Development
- Deliver products that customers value, adopt, and are willing to pay for at scale
- Build a repeatable product development engine rooted in customer insight and market opportunity
- Elevate product management discipline, reduce complexity, and raise the standard for user experience and design
- Coach and develop product leaders while strengthening the overall product and design organization
Engineering Excellence & Leadership
- Partner closely with engineering leadership to build, motivate, and retain a high-performing technical organization
- Foster an environment where engineers can consistently deliver their best work
- Drive architectural clarity, platform evolution, and technical rigor
- Balance modernization efforts with pragmatic, outcome-driven execution
- Improve delivery velocity and system reliability through strong processes, tooling, and operational discipline
- Develop engineering leaders as empowered, strategic people managers
AI, Automation & Data Enablement
- Collaborate with AI and applied research leadership to translate advanced capabilities into differentiated, customer-facing value
- Drive automation initiatives that improve margins, reduce operational costs, and enhance quality
- Build robust data foundations to support real-time insights, forecasting, and data-informed decision-making
- Establish strong data governance, instrumentation, and performance measurement across the organization
- Ensure the organization has the analytics and automation capabilities required to scale and support future growth milestones
- Maintain leadership in applied AI innovation through disciplined focus and execution
Cross-Functional & External Leadership
- Partner with go-to-market, operations, and finance leaders to deliver ambitious company objectives
- Participate in investor and board-level discussions as a strategic leader and trusted partner to the CEO
- Represent the organization credibly with partners, vendors, and industry stakeholders
- Build trust, alignment, and healthy debate across teams to drive better outcomes
Requirements
- Experienced product and technology executive with a track record of scaling SaaS or platform-based businesses through significant growth stages
- Strongly user-centric, with a passion for building products that deliver clear, differentiated value
- Emotionally intelligent leader who motivates teams and fosters engagement and accountability
- Commercially astute, with a deep understanding of how product strategy connects to go-to-market execution and growth outcomes
- Compelling communicator and storyteller, able to clearly articulate strategy and progress to boards and investors
- Adept at simplifying complexity and focusing teams on the most impactful priorities
- Proven builder of high-trust, high-performance cultures
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and independently driving cross-company initiatives
- Background in adjacent domains such as the built environment, construction technology, geospatial systems, or CAD/BIM platforms
