Our Client is seeking a highly driven Business Development Lead with deep familiarity in the construction and AEC sector to join a rapidly growing organization. This role will focus on generating new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with key industry stakeholders, and supporting revenue growth across the U.S. market.
This position functions as a founding sales role, with significant responsibility for shaping the company’s initial U.S. sales motion from the outset. While the company maintains an existing customer base and commercial presence in the region, this role is expected to materially expand market reach through a dedicated, in-person sales effort.
The role is highly hands-on and execution-oriented, requiring direct involvement in prospecting, relationship management, and deal execution. You will collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, contributing to both strategic direction and day-to-day execution as part of a highly engaged and entrepreneurial team environment.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • A relationship-driven communicator who builds credibility quickly and engages stakeholders as a trusted peer, fostering transparent and collaborative discussions
  • Highly proactive and resilient, with a willingness to pursue opportunities through persistent outreach, creative prospecting approaches, and non-traditional sales tactics when appropriate
  • Comfortable with travel to customer sites and industry meetings as required to support relationship development and deal progression
  • Prior experience working with U.S.-based contractors, technology providers, and/or development firms, with a strong understanding of industry dynamics and buying behavior
  • Identify, target, and qualify prospective customers across the construction ecosystem, including contractors, developers, architects, and suppliers
  • Own the sale of software automation, digital transformation, and BIM-related services, positioning solutions to address customer-specific operational challenges
  • Leverage CRM systems and market research to build, manage, and forecast a healthy and scalable sales pipeline
  • Initiate and manage outbound prospecting through calls, email campaigns, industry events, and professional networking platforms
  • Conduct discovery to understand client requirements and deliver tailored solution presentations aligned with organizational capabilities
  • Partner closely with offshore account executives and sales leadership to advance qualified opportunities through the sales cycle and close new business
  • Coordinate with internal delivery, product, and operations teams to support seamless onboarding and long-term customer success
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and deal stages within the CRM
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports detailing lead generation, pipeline health, and conversion metrics

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within the BIM, AEC, or broader construction ecosystem
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth through the closure of high-value opportunities and the development of durable, long-term client relationships
  • Well-established professional network within the industry, with the ability to engage effectively with senior executives and key decision-makers
  • Strong communication, presentation, proposal development, and contract negotiation capabilities
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to identify emerging market opportunities and contribute to the development of effective go-to-market strategies
  • Solid understanding of U.S. construction market dynamics, including common procurement processes and major industry participants
