BI Engineer

Job Description

Our client is looking for a BI Engineer who has a proven record of designing and implementing Business Intelligence visualizations that capture user-stories effectively and deliver data in a meaningful and intuitive way. This role will collaborate with their software and product teams to develop and continuously improve custom BI dashboards for their clients, as well as creating internal tools to help with reporting and data-driven-decisions.

Your Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with the design and product teams to create and embed data visualizations in our client’s products
• Taking feedback from client meetings to understand requirements, create user-stories and manage a pipeline of dashboards
• Pulling data reliably and consistently from databases and other platforms via APIs to create and manage BI dashboards in the company
• Contribute to the project roadmap, helping to define how/what they expose to their Clients

Your Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of experience in a data visualization, business intelligence, and/or data analyst role
• Strong proven proficiency with data visualization tools, such as Power BI and Tableau
• Familiarity with building complex query structures using approaches such Power BI DAX
• Familiarity with the Power BI API toolset to automatically manage reports deployed in workspaces in the cloud
• Experience using advanced SQL in a cloud data warehouse environment
• Experience with profiling and optimizing SQL queries
• Knowledge of data normalization and data modeling skills
• Strong command over HTTP based API integrations
• Programming experience with Python is preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure preferred
• Ability to convey complex outcomes through concise data driven tools
• Strong mathematical and statistical skills
• Expertise in designing well laid out dashboards and creating visualizations that really ”speak” to the user and provides the necessary insights to mee their needs.
